Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act was passed on 30 November 2000 and gives a
general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities.
The intention of the Act is to encourage a spirit of openness and transparency in
the NHS and to let the public see how we organise and deliver our services and NHS
