Memory Matters in Wirral
NHS Wirral has an aging population and it is estimated that by the year 2031 - more than a quarter of people living in Wirral will be over the age of 65.
NHS Wirral is to raise the general public’s awareness of memory problems and the services which are available across Wirral to support people.
A roadshow is to be held across Wirral where voluntary and NHS staff from specialist services will be on hand to give advice and guidance.
It will take place between Monday, 11 October, and Friday, 15 October, where members of the public will have the opportunity to have their questions answered on a range of ‘Memory Matters’.
Debbie Mayor, Head of Joint and Integrated Commissioning of NHS Wirral, said: “Memory problems are particularly difficult to accept for people and their family and it can sometimes be a difficult subject to talk about.
“As the population across Wirral grows older we can expect more families to be affected by dementia and other memory loss conditions. These events are for people to have a friendly chat with staff that can signpost you to services and organisations that can help.”
