Who's your NHS hero?
People across Wirral are being urged to nominate their NHS heroes for recognition as part of a new national campaign.
NHS Heroes is a new recognition scheme honouring the individuals and teams who go the extra mile to improve life for patients in hospitals, clinics and community care.
Launched on July 5 as part of the NHS’s 64th birthday celebrations, the campaign is an opportunity for anyone – patients, their families and the NHS community – to nominate and celebrate the staff members and teams who show exceptional compassion, kindness and skill above and beyond the call of everyday duty.
And it’s not only doctors and nurses that can be nominated; you can also praise your dentist, midwife, health visitor, surgeon, therapist, porter, radiographer or any other health professional you have come into contact with.
NHS Wirral is supporting the national campaign and keen to see local workers recognised.
Kathy Doran, NHS Wirral Chief Executive, said: “NHS staff do amazing things every day. It’s their job to save lives and care for people through the most difficult times, and that mission is the same whether they are working on the front line or behind the scenes.
“Staff often feel that they’re ‘just doing their job’, but this scheme provides a way of formally recognising the hard work, commitment and dedication given every day.
“I’d encourage local people to use this as an opportunity to say thank you, or tell us about service they particularly appreciated or a person who made a difference.”
